A New Jersey car accident claimed the life of a father of three. Almost a year after the accident, the family of the car accident victim has filed a wrongful death lawsuit related to the accident. The fatal car accident occurred on a New Jersey highway at approximately 5:00 a.m. The victim of the car accident was a passenger in the vehicle and the vehicle was on loan to the driver from a leasing company. Reports state that the driver lost control of the car, which caused the car to swerve off the road. The car swerved back onto the road again and went straight into oncoming traffic. The car collided with a semi-truck when it crossed into the oncoming traffic. Both the driver and the victim were airlifted to a local hospital after the accident. The victim incurred rib fractures, spleen lacerations, pancreas lacerations and portal vein lacerations. After failed resuscitation the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital two and half hours after the car accident. Reports state the semi-truck driver was not injured. The victim is survived by two young daughters and his wife. The wrongful death lawsuit was filed by the victim's widow as his estate's administrator and named the defendants as the driver of the car and the leasing company, who is also the owner of the car. This lawsuit is still pending. Although the damages sought in the lawsuit have not been reported, car accident related lawsuits usually seek compensation that can include but is not limited to medical bills, lost wages and pain and suffering.
