Route 57 truck crash sends 1 woman to hospital

A multi-vehicle accident shut down a portion of Route 57 in New Jersey on Tuesday morning. The incident happened in Warren County at approximately 7:05 a.m. According to the New Jersey State Police, one seriously injured individual had to be flown to the hospital by helicopter. The accident involved a sedan, a pickup truck and a tanker truck. The tanker truck was transporting an unknown flammable liquid. Fortunately, no fires or explosions were reported in the incident. According to the truck driver, the collision happened while he was driving westbound along Route 57. The truck driver was following a pickup truck, which stopped to make a left turn. An eastbound sedan also became involved in the collision when the truck tried to make the left turn. A person inside the sedan was the injured person who needed to be flown to the hospital for emergency medical care. As of last reports, police were still conducting an investigation into what may have caused the crash. Therefore, troopers were only able to provide a limited amount of information to news reporters regarding the collision.
