Tragic Palisades Parkway Accident Kills 4, Injures 8

In a horrific beginning to Labor Day weekend, 4 people were killed and 8 injured when a van overturned early Friday morning on Palisades Interstate Parkway in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.

The accident caused a multi-hour shut-down of the Palisades Parkway that extended through the Friday rush hour. Continue reading to find out what happened. 

 

Here’s What Happened

On Friday, September 2, 2022, around 1:30 am, a shuttle van that had a dozen passengers on board hit the center median on New Jersey’s Palisades Interstate Parkway and completely flipped over. When local law enforcement arrived on the scene, they found the shuttle van on its left side near a wooden area. An emergency crew had to rescue trapped passengers from the wreckage. 

According to updated reports from News 4 New York, several of those who survived at the accident site had serious head trauma. The van, which had New York plates, was described as a shuttle van.

As of publication, an investigation into what caused the horrific crash is currently underway. At this time, no details have been released as to how many of the surviving passengers had life-threatening injuries.
